FROM SEED TO ROOT: THE DARK WORK, PT. 2
I. Your Life Is Unlocked Under the Surface
Mark 4:26-27 – “The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, HE HIMSELF DOES NOT KNOW HOW.”
Hebrews 11:6 – But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
1. Burial – Submission to Obscurity
John 12:24a - “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat FALLS INTO THE GROUND . . .”
• Burial is not punishment; It is preparation.
Luke 2:51-52 - Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.
Galatians 1:17-18 - nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.
2. Death – Dying of the Old Self (It speaks of salvation and the new man.)
John 12:24 - “Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground AND DIES, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much fruit.”
• Death to self is the only doorway to potential.
You must LET this happen; You cannot force this process.
Proverbs 3:5-6 - Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.
3. Watering – The Word Awakens Life
Isaiah 55:10-11 - “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, and make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.
Ephesians 5:25-26 - Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word.
II. Your Potential is Unlocked at Depth
4. Cracking – Pressure that Releases Potential (A full message on this later)
John 12:24 - “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; BUT IF IT DIES, it produces much grain.”
James 1:2-4 - My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
5. Rooting – Depth Before Display
Ephesians 3:16-19 - That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and DEPTH and height to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.•
Depth is about ACCESS.
• Depth requires VULNERABILITY.
• Depth requires INTEGRATION, not segregation.
• Depth is proven under PRESSURE.
• Depth is the Difference Between Information and TRANSFORMATION.
