MOTHER’S – The Sacred Calling of Spiritual Formation
I. Motherhood Is More than Birth — It’s a Life Rhythm
• Raising Children requires a Daily Rhythm.
Deuteronomy 6:7 – You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
• Raising Children requires a Devoted Parent.
Deuteronomy 6:6 – And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.
II. Motherhood Takes More than You – It Takes a Family
• The greatest protégé Paul ever had was discipled at a kitchen table.
2 Timothy 1:5 – When I call to remembrance the genuine faith that is in you, which dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am persuaded is in you also.
III. Three Marks of a Spiritual Architect
1. You form yourself before you form your children.
Deuteronomy 6:6 . . . these words shall be in your heart.
2. You weave Faith into Ordinary Life.
Deuteronomy 6:7b – And shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.
3. You play the Long Game.
