EMOTIONAL ALIGNMENT – RESTORING GOD’S GOVERNANCE
I. Emotion – God’s design and Satan’s distortion - God has a Divine Order
Mark 4:28 . . . For the earth yields crops by itself: FIRST the blade, THEN the head, AFTER THAT the full grain in the head.
Genesis 3:6 . . . So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate.
• Emotion was created to serve truth, not shape it
- The SPIRIT received truth from God.
- The MIND translated that truth into understanding.
- The EMOTIONS gave that understanding energy and expression.
- And the BODY carries it out in the world.
This is God’s divine order and governance: “Spirit → Mind → Emotion → Body.”
1 Thessalonians 5:23 . . . Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• The First Idol man worshiped was a feeling
II. The Consequences of Reversed Order
• When Emotion Rules, Peace Disappears
Genesis 3:10 . . . And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.”
• The Storm Outside always mirrors the Storm Within
Mark 4:39 . . . Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
Romans 8:6 . . . For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
III. The Cross was not only Redemption but also Realignment
• Gethsemane was the victory before Calvary
Luke 22:41–42 . . . And He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and He
knelt down and prayed, 42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from
Me; NEVERTHELESS not My will, but Yours, be done.”
IV. The Road to Restoration – Rebuilding Emotional Order
• Emotions' first occurrence and God’s expectation
Genesis 4:3–7 . . . And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. AND CAIN WAS VERY ANGRY, and His Countenance Fell. So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, BUT YOU SHOULD RULE OVER IT.”
• The Heart is the seat of the Emotions
Proverbs 4:23 . . . Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life.
• When emotions rule, you become their slave
Proverbs 25:28 . . . Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down, without walls.
• Believe it or not, You are truly in control
2 Timothy 1:7 . . . For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
The divine order is not optional—it is essential.
- The Spirit must rule – So the Mind can THINK RIGHT.
- The Mind must align – So the Emotions can FEEL RIGHT.
- The Emotions must submit – So the Body can LIVE RIGHT.
• Healing begins when you get HONEST WITH YOURSELF!
Luke 15:17 . . . “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
GOD’S ORDER CAN BE RESTORED
Step 1 – Recognize what’s Ruling: What emotion has been leading me — fear, anger, ejection? Naming it dethrones it.
Step 2 – Reframe the Feeling: Emotions are REAL, but they’re not always RIGHT. Truth must reinterpret what emotion has been narrating. “This pain is real, but it is not Reality.”
Step 3 – Release through Forgiveness: Unforgiveness is the most toxic emotional weight. Every memory you haven’t forgiven keeps its emotion alive.
Forgiveness doesn’t erase memory; IT BREAKS EMOTIONAL OWNERSHIP.
Step 4 – Renew the Mind: Renewal is the Spirit’s way of Re-Educating your emotions to respond to truth. The mind becomes the bridge that teaches emotion a
new language: PEACE.
Step 5 – Restore Peace as your Ruler
Isaiah 26:3 . . . You will keep him in perfect peace, whose “MIND” is stayed on You.
• Peace is not calm circumstances; it’s correct Governance.
V. The Fruit Of Alignment – Authority and Peace
• Your Dominion is restored when Order is restored
Mark 4:39 . . . Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.
