EASTER: WHAT ELSE COULD HE DO?
I. He Became Flesh
John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
II. He Humbled Himself
Philippians 2:7-8 – 7He made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
III. He Suffered Innocently
1 Peter 2:22 – Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth.
IV. He Died for Us
Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
V. He Tore the Veil
Matthew 27:50-51 – 50And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit. 51Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split.
VI. He Arose`
Matthew 28:5-6 – 5But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
VII. He Sent His Spirit
John 16:7 – “Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.”
VIII. He Is Coming Back
Acts 1:9-11 – 9Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. 10And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, 11who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
Romans 10:9-10 – 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
